Anyone know the relationship between Hudl and Max Preps?
I know I did not sign up for anything willingly and found my Hudl roster at Max Preps.
Tried to get an answer from Hudl and have been getting a bit of the run around.

Thanks, coach. Where is that page when navigating through the website? I went to the privacy tab as well as highlights and can't find it.
Do you know if this is a new partnership? I don't recall my roster being copied last year to Max Preps.
The page you sent says, "If you’re very concerned about your highlights being public, you can easily turn off certain video angles. You can also opt your team out of the MaxPreps.com partnership. Do You Have Questions About This Partnership?
Call or email our sales team (402-817-0060 or sales@hudl.com)."
Do you know if you have to actually contact them to opt out or can you do it by their website?

Out of curiosity, why would you want to opt out?

Out of curiosity, why would you want to opt out? It might not be a coaches choice--- Louisiana law just passed a pretty hefty "privacy" bill that currently has district lawyers scrambling to advise schools as to what to do. I know that currently we are directed that we are NOT allowed to post up school rosters outside the school (as has been done for years so that the elementary school students can find out who their teachers are)-- First names ONLY on any work posted outside of classrooms...etc. etc. So in LA, the OP COULD be fined up to 10,000 and have a 3 year jail sentence... That is quality work their legislators. Absolutely foolish and meaningless legislation...but still a hassle that is out of our hands...

Out of curiosity, why would you want to opt out? That's a fair question. It's more that I feel I wasn't given a choice more than anything. Maybe I did get an email from Hudl at one point notifying me of the new partnership, it's privacy policy, etc. but I don't recall anything like that. Who will Max Preps share this information with? Are our kids' email addresses shared with other companies? I'm sure their cell #s aren't shared but as a coach, I want to make sure that information I give a company isn't shared without at least me saying "yes" or having an easy option to "unshare." When I wrote to Hudl support they suggested that a coach of mine may have linked the information with Max Preps but the page that Coach Huey shared suggests that no one would have linked that information, that it was automatic. That's the run around I referred to. I also can't find the page that CH shared when I open my Hudl account. I love Hudl and will continue using it. It just feels a little slick is all.

Don't know if I would call this ironic, a coincidence or what but I just received an email from Hudl this morning announcing its partnership with MaxPreps and what's been shared so far.
Did you all receive the same thing?

This is part of it...
What's Been Done So Far Your roster and schedule information is being shared from Hudl to MaxPreps. Any roster or schedule entry that did not previously exist on MaxPreps has been imported from Hudl. (Make sure you do not mark scrimmages, passing tournaments and practices as regular season games in your Hudl account.)
What's Next Each week, we will add new features meant to improve your workflow by syncing up relevant data between MaxPreps and Hudl. Here are the next items on our list: Game Scores & Stats Video Highlights Live Game Stats (See Tag a Game below)
What Do I Have To Do Make sure your schedule and roster are correct. Once your season gets under way, enter your stats on either MaxPreps or Hudl and we'll handle the rest. We will continue to provide updates until everything is fully synced. If you have questions, visit our support site.

We are happy to see that coaches are talking about this collaboration between MaxPreps and Hudl. By now, many of you received a notification about this new workflow. If you haven't, more information will be sent out by Hudl later this week. But, feel free to read this thread. The message sent out through MaxPreps on behalf of both parties is posted. As you can tell, we are in the very early stages of this integration. Over the next several weeks enhancements will be made. As that happens, expect more information to be delivered to you. For now, you can reference this page for information. We are always looking for feedback so feel free to post your feedback to this thread and I will collect it for the team to review. Thanks.

Well what is the response to the potential laws this could be breaking? I love hudl, and I think this could be a good partnership with maxpreps. I'm just wondering what steps you guys have completed to make sure this is in fact legal in all school districts.

For 8-Man schools the tag a game does NOT work as the only option is a 50 yard field. I was informed that this isn't something that will be done in the coming weeks either. That was very disappointing to hear. Last year we kept all of our stats on MaxPreps App and thought we would do the same this year, but then the Hudl tag a game was taking its place, but it will NOT work for 8-man schools. I am very frustrated to say the least. Also I was informed you can't save email address to send stats to once the game is complete like what was on Max Preps. This merger seems to have occurred way to soon before they were ready to roll the product out as a replacement.

IN GA you most input info into MaxPreps or be fined, etc... So HUDL saved me time, but I think they should have asked each coach if they wanted to.

One of the reasons so many teachers are leaving the 'profession': laws that are counter-productive.
