Well, I figure I would reintroduce myself. The first time I was on this site I was an 18-year-old kid that ambitions to be a football coach and an educator. I didn't have a clue about anything. I was so excited to find a coaching site that I joined in 2005. I was a freshman in College and was a student assistant at my HS Alma Mater. After a long hiatus from this site (lost my login info), I decided to come back, and I deleted that introduction dated on December 20th, 2005 and decided to post this one because I looked like a complete idiot. Sorry Tog and Huey LOL.
My name is Jack Dingus. I am currently a Defensive Coordinator in Class 2A in Oklahoma. We run a split defense. I have been in the coaching business for 13 years. Like I mentioned earlier I started coaching when I was 18 years old. Coached my way through college making little money. Decided to stick with it. I am an OL coach by trade; I take pride in coaching the OL but... I can coach receivers, tight ends, and running backs. As far as Defense, I have coached DL, Linebackers, and Corners. I have been in the Spread, Flexbone, I formation, Wing-T. I believe that your system should fit your kids. I also host an OL Coaches Twitter Chat on Monday Nights at 8 pm called the #hogfbchat. I love this website, and I thank Coach Huey and Tog for keeping this great site going all these years!

Hey y'all! I played CB during 8 years and I've been forced to stop playing after a serious injury this year (I'm 32 yo). Since I'm coaching the DB's of my team. I'm living in France, near Paris. So, I'm not a native english speaker and I apologize for my grammar Zone blitz enthusiast. I'm here to learn the more I can about the game! My GOAT: Champ Bailey Favorite teams: Denver Broncos, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Texas Tech Red Raiders. Former Rouen Léopards player.

Coach Brandon,
slot backs coach for a flexbone team (Im a SBV Guy though).
Defensivly im an under front guy. I really like the idea of having 1 gap with weak rotation possibility while still playing strong coverage to the strength.
Im always up for a good chat and giving as much as i can. i was blessed with coaches helping me early in my career starting out.

Hey everyone, I'm James, I'm HC and offensive coordinator for a 9 man football team in Sydney Australia.
I've only been coaching 3 years. But every year is a struggle due to the popularity of the sport down here and players becoming too old for the division. The age group is 15-19 which does make things a little bit more of a challenge.
Every year we lose a third to half the previous years squad, so we start from scratch every year. So what works last year may not work this year.
I'm here looking for some advice and direction on how to properly manage a program such as this.
Thanks James

Currently the Head HS coach out in California 34 years old
This will be my third year as a HC and my 17th year overall. Started coaching right out of HS loved the game and decided to make a career out of it.
Offensive systems I've coached in Wing-T Pro Style Spread No huddle
Defensive Systems I've coached in 4-4 4-3 4-2-5 (I was the DC) 3-4 (I was the DC) 5-2 (I was the DC)
In my program we run a spread no huddle offense and 3-4 defense I feel that best matches our personnel
Love the game and the learning part of it so much thats what brought me to this site

Hey fellas!
I'm J, been around football for about ten years in some capacity or another, mostly film. Headed into my third season of coaching HS ball. Spent my first season as a slappy helping mainly at the JV level, moved to a WAY DOWN program as a WR/DB coach and head into this season as a first-time DC. I'm chitting my pants at the prospect of being a play-caller trial by fire I suppose.
We're moving from a 4-3 to 3-3 Stack and transitioning from a grab-bag B.S. spread Frankenstein crap offense to the Pistol Wing-T.
Love the forum, I've been lurking for a few years and have decided to become more engaged in hopes of supplementing my learning, because I'm green as green can be!

Head coach at a school in the Pacific Northwest that is in the biggest classification. Grew up in a football family where my dad was a High School Head coach for over 25 years. This is my first post on this site but I have been a member for a long time and skim though the board constantly looking for advice.
I'm 31 years old, going into 3rd year as HFC. On offense we are mostly 1 back, multiple formation, no huddle. We play with a Wing/TE in our base personnel. On defense we are a 4-3 attacking D. Most of our philosophy on D comes from Pat Narduzzi.
I'm a fan of this site and continue to enjoy modst of the content on here!

Look forward to reading and learning from some of the best.

Hello Everyone! I've been reading through the forum a bit and i am very excited to join this community. I have been in love with football, Passionate about football for as long as i can remember. I played a bit before a knee injury but i moved on to studying football, Particularly scouting college prospects going into the draft, since about 2002-2003. Now i am looking for more, so much more. My goal is to take the scattered knowledge i have and focus it on best positioning myself towards a career in coaching. Football is already a living breathing 24 hour part of my life as it is now, I would just like to take the next step into coaching and sharing this game that i love and respect with anyone it could possibly help.
I look forward to learning from everyone here and hope to contribute in anyway i can. Also, could anyone point me in the direction of a FAQ? Looking for things like where/how to find game film? Useful programs to help with film, playbook, personnel?
Now. I'm off to dive into some defense

Coaches. I have 25+ years coaching experience on Offense, Defense, and Special teams. I have run a Pro style, west coast, option, and spread offense. For most of my career I have run a 4-4 on defense with some stemming to tuff front. I have taken the last two years off and been involved in coaching clinics and private business.

Hey there, Coaches. I'm 24, was currently playing for amateur league in Brazil when my herniated disk stopped me from playing. Now I'm one of the Coaches (more like an assistant coach). I've got no experience coaching whatsoever, and I hope I can learn a lot from here. Right now, I'm focusing on Defense, since I was DL when I played. Even though I still have hope that I can play again, I might be sticking to Coaching to avoid surgery. Any tips are welcomed. Any books are welcomed. I like the style that Nick Saban has, but honestly, I don't know if I'm able to teach adults things that are taught to kids. We have a lot of obstacles: our training is made at public parks, we don't have lots of equipments, we have limited resources. But we do what we can, and a little more . I think that's it. Thanks!

Alright, here goes! I'm 28 years old, born and bred in Victoria Australia. 18 months ago I knew barely anything about football. I grew up playing soccer. I'd watched a game of football when I was a teenager, on Foxtel, when I was on holiday at my aunt's. First game I watched was Steelers v Packers I think, in 2009. And that was the last game of football I watched until last year when I realized my local station aired 3 live games every Monday morning.
Well... I became completely hooked. I was watching football games, football TV shows, reading football, listening to football podcasts, trying to teach myself some of the basics of throwing a ball. Luckily my partner and our daughter got hooked as well and I actually had someone to throw and catch with. No-one else in our social circle really gets why we're so in love with this game.
I'm learning, slowly, but there's so much that I don't know. I'm eager to understand, and I'm eager to participate. There's a local competition in my State, closest team is a 2 hour drive. I think that next season I'm going to just have to make the drive and get involved.
I have a curiosity about coaching, I love helping and motivating people. I currently run a social soccer group, and I find that incredibly rewarding. But football just seems to be on this whole other level of being able to impact people. I'm sure I sound like a gushing idiot, but I'm kind of in love with your sport.
I'm not a head coach, I'm not an assistant coach. I'm just kind of involved in this strange love affair with a sport whose homeland is 15,000 km away.
Your forum seems to be an amazing collection of incredibly smart, experienced football people. If anyone is interested in chatting to me about how they got started, when they knew they wanted to coach, how they've made it work, I'd be very appreciative. Don't want to waste anyone's time, but I just feel like I need to start this journey somewhere.
Thanks, Aussiejake

Hey all, I’m Brandon. I’m just finishing my 9th season and 3rd with HS. Also to be noted this was my first year with a position group (QB) from Louisville, KY. at a school that’s set to move to 6A next season. Stumbled upon this website and really hoping to use it as a positive tool to gain some insight on things we may not do right now that we may in the future. Possibly going to be going into a wing t next season and I’ve never coached it just played in that offense well over 10 years ago. Any drills or coaching points would be fantastic! Happy to be here and looking forward to gaining new perspectives to help develop the young fellas around!

Raiderian I'm the varsity secondary coach/JV DC at a 3A school in Central Texas. I just finished my 3rd season of coaching football. I run mostly two high, split field, pattern matching coverages behind a 4-2 front. Most of my goals are team oriented, but I would like to become a varsity DC within the next 8 seasons. I've been "lurking"on this site for a whole minute now. Thought it might be time to start interacting. Cheers!

I am the HC of a 4A school in SE Kentucky. This is my 3rd year as Head Coach and 20th Coaching HS football at 2 schools. I spent most of the time Coaching DL/OL and serving as the DC for 10 years. Since becoming HC I have started Coaching WR and calling the offense. I enjoy talking football and seeing the other ways coaches get it done. Been lucky to work with some good coaches and Coach some great young men.
Offensive Background Played and Coached for 16 years in a primarily 3 back system. ISO, trap and Belly option. Tons of success in that system. Played very physical football. State Champion and Multiple region championships.
As a Head Coach and play caller at a new school I have made a switch to more of spread offense. Lots of 10 personal. 2x2 and 3x1. Lots of CTR Trey and PWR O tagged with RPO stuff. Had 3k rushing and 1800 passing in 2017, 2k rushing and 3k passing in 2018. We have been very young on the OL and have some talented WR's and QB's. Been a fun transformation. Won the schools first Region Championship in 18 and advanced to the State Semi Finals.
Defense I have Coached in a 4-4, 3-3-5 and primarily a 4-2-5 which has been my base defense as a DC and HC all but 1 year when we ran the 3-3-5. Just didn't have the dudes upfront to play even front.
Great site and look forward to learning more about our sport. Thanks!!!

Hey, Y'all
I am born and raised in Florida (can't stand the Gators, though) where I played HS football for 2 years as an Offensive Guard/Center until tearing my ACL my Sophomore year (Which flipped my parents out). Thus, they took me out of football... But ever since leaving the game I've done nothing but immerse myself deeper into it, with books, videos, All-22 Film, etc. Until I grew the confidence to seek out an assistantship at my university where I'm currently studying Aerospace Engineering.
By my username, it's pretty obvious that I'm a rookie coach, going to be my first time working in the world of football as a volunteer assistant for my D2 University on Monday (7/9) and I'm pretty hyped. I thought I might as well join up and learn as much as possible from the people who are already in the coaching world.
