We have a spot on our 4 year old grass field that stays perpetually wet. This is a big time nuisance as you can imagine. Is there any way to deal with this... Maybe sanding the area pretty heavily to raise it up? I typed this on my phone, so please excuse any mistakes.

My first thought was to level in the low spot with sand, which is what you had mentioned.

Are you sure that there are no water leaks in irrigation? This may be the issue. It's supposed to have been repaired. And after a looong dry spell, it will eventually dry up. It's stays so damp that we actually have mildew growing in some areas on the sideline. |

we had a similar situation a few years ago, turned out to be a leaking pipe below one of the sprinkler heads.

Could be a pipe.
Fill it, Seed it probably all you can do.

We've had sprinkler heads leak before but its usually pretty obvious that's the cause. So, unless you think it's a sprinkler, i'd sand it and try to raise the spot so that it doesnt hold water.

Coach, I'm not sure if it will work or not, but have you tried contacting the major college and pro groundskeepers in your area-especially the ones who aren't in season right now? I'm not sure what the etiquette is on asking them for advice without paying them, but the worst that could happen is they ignore your email.
