Now that more and more high school games are being broadcast I was wondering which schools in particular you look forward to watch because of their innovative/unique/solid approach.
Last night I started to watch the Booker T Washington at St. Thomas Aquinas game and was already interesting to see St. Thomas start out in a run heavy unbalanced formation.
Any suggestions?

All of it. Seriously, watch as much as you can. You will see start to see things eventually.

These broad cast games are all about the college recruiting all stars. When you see these games, they high light their recruiting arm's 4/5 stars. The announcers all hype the top recruits as a part of the broadcast; that's how they make these games sell. These games are tied hand in hand to the college recruit services.
I'd look to see how teams that DON'T have the players with stars handle the starred players. A lot of these games feature teams that aren't well coached, but can tell a kid to 'be an athlete'.

I get that, but they're the only games that are available here across the atlantic, so obviously I have to base my selection on those games being broadcast.

Let's not get carried away. Those teams featured on tv have loads of talent, but don't knock the coaches for that. Ive yet to watch a nationally televised HS game where I've said to myself "these coaches suck". Normally I'm very impressed by these programs. I may not always agree with a scheme or play call, but overall those teams have very good coaches. Hard to be THAT successful year in and year out with poor coaching. I've seen and been around LOTS of these game. These games aren't about consistent programs. These are about recruits. The reason why team A is playing team B, isn't about how well the program is running/how long the coaching staff has been together/the next Art Briles/the next Gus Malzahn. Those are made to show off 4 star and 5 star recruits. Nothing else. Now there might be a great program involved with these games, but it's because they also have great athletes. I'm not trying to knock any coach, everybody has to coach what you've got. But these games aren't about scheme. It's ESPN and its marketing arm creating a made for TV event weekend (when there not much going on) that also brings into focus a subsidiary of ESPN which is heavily involved with these recruiting services. You guys do know that Joe 'Bama fan pays good money to know how great a job Saban does in bringing the next crop of national champions, right? Multiply that by about 30-40 million. So again, I'm more interested in the teams that don't have a roster full of 4/5 stars that can still get the job done.

Just so everybody knows, Coach Woodall may be too modest to mention it but he's coached in these games. They came up and popped a good team here a couple of years ago. So, when he says these things it's not envy or sour grapes. He knows what he's talking about. I'll add that if you want to see diverse schemes those TV games aren't the place to look. The TV guys really like spread stuff. They were talking to us a few years ago but when they heard that we were a Pro I team they lost interest.

If you're in California, I have nothing but great things to say about the staff at Clovis High. Not the most athletic team (in fact theyre probably less athletic than just about every team they play) but they win consistently. Always competing for their league/district championship in a very competitive league.
Their practices are the most efficient HS practices I've ever seen. Theyre so smooth. They really have a college staff program to the way they operate.Everything is organized to the T and they do a great job off getting the maximum production out of their players.

The other Mariners on the board run a nice Wing T scheme. Got a great game with another area power in Salinas High. Glad our first week is a bye.. Lots of good football to watch

I got to listen to the HC speak at the Denver Glazier, he was spot on. I just happened into his session, but walked out thinking 'It's not what I would do, but I could work for this cat'. Loved his organization/structure. He works in a low socio-economic area, but has a plan for all the hang-ups in said area. Class guy. Definitely someone I'd buy a beverage for.

Not calling you a liar but you more than likely saw the assistant HC. The HC (Rich Hammond) is a short, tasmanian devil like dude. Full of energy. His right hand man (Mike Cooper) is the one that does the clinic circuit. Good speaker, definitely worth your time. But they are both phenomenal football minds and coaches. Would definitely be great guys to work for. They've got a good staff all around too. Although calling Clovis a low socio-economic area really paints a picture of just how rough a lot of places are in California. Compared to the rest of Fresno, Clovis is the glitz and glamour. Not denying theres problems, just pointing out just how sad the situation is just about everywhere.

And every coach from here that I've ever met or known their program program has been a goodcoach. Lots of lessons can and have been learned by the people on this board. And I follow a lot of programs and enjoy watching what yall do.
