I have a rule pertaining fans that's stood the test of time. The closer the stands are to the action, the worse the fans act.

I am not excusing the official for pushing the parent, but why was the parent even on the court? That is an administration problem. I know both of these schools very well. Hazel Park has recently opened up the district to increase enrollment, their population has changed

They should put a fence around the court. Maybe call them "cagers"?
It would keep the parents/fans out of the official's faces.

Hazel Park has recently opened up the district to increase enrollment, their population has changed I agree.. I had to remove several parents from junior high basketball games when I was an AD. People weren't allowed near the floor until after the officials had left and the kids were ready to leave.

Am I the only one seeing the parent chest bump the referee? Lucky imo he just got pushed, I would have clocked him. I am assuming the parent said something extreme on the sideline as the ref runs back on to the court, the parent had someone try to grab him before he chased the referee down.
I love the video, "the parent was shocked!" No he wasn't he got exactly what he wanted, he looks around after it happened to ensure everyone saw it, throwing his arms up acting like he was innocent. Manipulative people irritate me to no end. Makes me wonder where else in this guys life he tries to bully people around.
That school ought to be banned from the play-offs, students throwing trash on the court, AD getting kicked out of his own gym, and parents attacking refs. If I were in that state and an official I would refuse to call their games.

I don't know if this it's typical but our basketball parents are MUCH nuttier than our football parents. I was at one of our games the other night and a basketball dad was ranting & raving about his kid not playing. Late in the 4th quarter he started to walk out onto the court and our AD approached him and asked him to stay off the court and find a seat in the stands, the guy started hollering, "You can't tell me what to do! Don't touch me! You're assaulting me!" It was embarrassing, I can only imagine how the kid felt watching his father make a fool of himself.

That dude comes on the court and I'm an official, I don't know I react that much differently. Especially after stuff was thrown on the court, and the freaking ATHLETIC DIRECTOR got ejected. That's kind of a scary situation to be in.
I was once reffing a 5th grade tourney when I was in college, as we were walking out to the do the tip off of the next game a mother from the previous game came to mid-court and starting yelling at us. Her son's team won by 25.. My buddy kindly told her to leave the gym and return to her trailer.

I have a rule pertaining fans that's stood the test of time. The closer the stands are to the action, the worse the fans act. That is so true! I live in the city that hosts the largest 3 on 3 outdoor basketball tournament in the world, no hyperbole used, that's actually true. The city blocks off the entire down town and the games are played in the street, the spectators are on the curb. It gets crazy! About 5 or 6 years ago a person shot another person after a game....that kind of crazy. Typically the younger the competitors are the crazier their supporters act and often times the girls games are the worst.

I think that this was unfortunate and the administration is mostly at fault. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who saw the personal training video with the douche doing curls while he was squatting with a loaded barbell on his back???
So after that nothing seemed as bad.

I was doing play by play for our live stream. We did our girls and boys games.
5 minutes left in the 2nd quarter...the other team's best player scores..then taunts our bench. She gets T'ed up. Then she's mouthy. She gets T'ed and ejected. Her dad is a coach. He pops off. He gets a T. Their bench doesn't shut up. They get a T...which means the HC is T'ed. Daddy decides to pop off one more time. He gets T'ed. 5 Ts in about 1 minute.
It was a {censored} show. Player gets T'ed and booted. Daddy get T'ed and booted. HC...because he was a douche and couldn't handle his bench...gets T'ed and booted.
I have video. It's wild.
