There is a coach in our parts that resigned today.
No biggy right? Happens all the time.
But this guy is resigning because his wife is going to run for President of the United States.
That...isn't something you hear that often.

Really cool, unless there’s skeletons. Hard to win the presidency if it comes out your husband exposes himself at camp via hotdog bun or has been involved in a syrup scandal.

Has to deal with more upset parents than a teacher/coach.

I'm going with Kamala Harris. And, that is a unique reason to resign. If it is Harris, I'd have kept my job. He's going to need something to do after she flames out in the primaries.

No. Last name...Benzel. Look her up.

She sounds like a piece of work:
“As far as qualifications, Benzel humbly suggested she might actually be OVERqualified: “I have a unique and incredible historical perspective from analyzing both United States foreign and domestic policy for the last 30 years.” She also says “I am indeed the most ordinary, “common” person of all: a teacher and mother, married to the high school football coach, we have 5 daughters, living in suburbia America, working hard throughout the week, attending ball games on Saturdays and church on Sundays.” Benzel believes she will resonate with the majority of hard-working Americans”
She is a high school teacher and Trump lover. Went on Fox News and criticized her students for protesting for safer schools.

She will get my vote depending on one question: Did her husband wear a visor and run the spread?

You realize the last paragraph of the last article you cite directly supports what I said?
“A statement from Diana Capra at Rocklin School District Statement says, “The teacher was not penalized or placed on leave based on her viewpoints… the district can clarify that the action was taken due to complaints from parents and students involving the teacher’s communications regarding… the student-led remembrance activities.”
In other words, she objected to the students engaging in the school shooting remembrance activities and was suspended for it. Then she goes on Fox News and is laps up all the attention she received. Now she thinks this and other magical BS qualifies her to be president.
I would laugh if it wasn’t so pathetic.

Of course she isn't qualified to be president. And I agree abut the attention grab. But not real sure how the paragraph you quoted means that she "criticized her students for protesting for safer schools". This is what happened according to that same article: She is a history teacher so this would be completely appropriate in that high school classroom. "Before she was put on leave, Benzel had asked her class whether schools should endorse protests selectively or in all cases. She said that she never told her students not to join the National School Walkout, or said anything against it. Her question to her classroom was simply whether the school would support a protest about another controversial topic." “If high schools or public schools are going to be places of civic activism, I could not be a better proponent for it. But it has to be afforded to any student to protest anything,” she said in an interview with Sacramento’s KOVR-TV after she returned to school. Benzel’s controversial question? Would schools support a protest if it was about another controversial political topic? “And so I just kind of used the example,” she told KOVR, “which I know it’s really controversial, but I know it was the best example I thought of at the time — a group of students nationwide, or even locally, decided ‘I want to walk out of school for 17 minutes’ and go in the quad area and protest abortion, would that be allowed by our administration?” Benzel asked." And two parents complained so they suspended her.

Here is what really happened. She is right wing, for better or worse. She is pro gun, and did not like the protest/day of remembrance. She used it as an opportunity to object to the protest by alleging that the school would not support a pro-life walkout like they would a day of remembrance for students killed in school shootings.
She got suspended for this transparent as ph*ck attempt. She doubled down and looks to organize a pro life rally. Laura Ingram gets word of this “first amendment warrior” and brings her on her show. Like the good useful idiot she is, she becomes a prop in Laura’s right wing propaganda campaign.
Now she wants to run for president. In any other time, it would be an absurd plot line to a bad comedy sketch.

Sorry to get everyone riled up. The coach is a decent guy. They ran a little spread. Mostly pistol stuff. Word on the street is wife is kooky. There is a video out there of the wife doing the resigning for her husband. Yes...a video, by the wife, telling everyone that coach is resigning. Listen...if I'm resigning...you're hearing from me. Period. ****Actually...I tried to access the video again and it seems to have disappeared. Interesting. Just like any other gov. cover up. Video evidence disappears. Trust me...I saw it. It was awkward.

But is there any real evidence to that or is that just your opinion and other people's conjecture? My guess is the truth is somewhere in the middle. Agree this is absurd.

The useful idiot stuff is my opinion. So is my characterization of Fox News’s motivation for having her on. The rest is based on first hand quotes from the presidential contender herself. Although in fairness to her, she did admit she would probably be better as Vice President to Trump for her first elected office position.

The useful idiot stuff is my opinion. Of course. A characterization I agree with though. You are again probably correct, although I don't have a problem with that. It is Laura Ingraham's own political opinion TV show. Sources? I really did look (not that hard, but did look) for any actual negative quotes from her criticizing students and didn't find any. Hahahahahaha. That is Gold. Conservative here (hopefully open minded), but can laugh at idiots from either side.

When I bring her name up...people immediately go..."she's nutty". Not a good first impression to have.
