OK, who are the all-time greatest move football players at their positions? If you could put together an all-star team made up of movie / TV characters, who would you have on your team?
Here are some of my picks:
OFFENSE:
QB: Reno Hightower (The Best of Times) RB: Boobie Miles (Friday Night Lights) ok, I know he was a real guy too, but whatever… FB: Ray Griffin (The Program) I think this is the only FB I know of featured in a movie…and he was a converted TB WR: Charlie Tweeder (Varsity Blues) WR: Rod Tidwell (Jerry McGuire) TE: Jack “I’m pretty damn fast for a Caucasian” Dundee (The Best of Times) **he was clearly playing out of position at WR OL: The really fat kid (Remember the Titans) OL: Bud “Lite” Kaminski (The Program) OL: Dickey LaRue (The Best of Times) OL: Billy Bob (Varsity Blues) OL: The guy who wrecks Alvin Mack (The Program)
DEFENSE:
DL: Jumbo (The Replacements) **Yeah, he should be a NT DL: Steve Lattimer (The Program) LB: Shark (Any Given Sunday) LB: Bobby Boucher (The Waterboy) LB: Alvin Mack (The Program) LB: Danny Batemen (The Replacements) DB: Rudy (Rudy) **the movie version, not the real version DB: Stefen Djordjevic (All The Right Moves) DB: Dr. Death (The Best of Times)
SPECIAL TEAMS:
KR / PR: Forrest Gump (Forrest Gump) K / P: Kathy Ireland (Necessary Roughness)
Who have you got on your team, suckas??

This is my version...... Just a different look..
NG- Mongo (Blazing Saddles)
Qb - John Wayne, there is nothing he cant do... What MLB is gonna stare him down.
DT- The Rock and Arnawld.....
Kicker- The mule off of Gus (the Disney Movie)
DE- Steven Seagal, Do you think he could use his hands to get by tackle? Steve McQueen, this is my quick side with attitude. FS- Chuck Norris, do I really have to explain this one.....
TE- Tom Selleck, I think he would be great here!
FB- Herbie LOL
HB- Robert Duvall, wiry and confident Speed Mcqueen, Yes I have three little girls..... CB- Jackie Chan, can get off of any stalk block. Bruce Lee, boundary corner
SS- Clint Eastwood, can you see the cigar behind the facemask, and the saddlebags over his shoulder full of dynamite....
MLB- Woodrow McCall (Tommy Lee Jones in Lonesome Dove) "Cant tollerate rude behavior in a man"
OLB's- Charleton Heston and Kirk Douglas, Just 'cause.
OT- James Arness, Tall, Wide, has to be athletic Darth Vader, Will be able to block down, whether or not he physically touches them.
OG- Yul Brynner Charles Bronson- Both tough as nails and will be able to pull, guarantee it.. C- Mel Gibson, quick and "probably" can block back and catch MLB's. Plus the lightening bolts out of his arse.. get it?
O.C. Yoda, neat how this be would. D.C Robin Williams, Yeah baby!! Blitz happy. H.C. Gandalf, has be on the horse though, running down the stadium steps, out of the tunnel in front of the team......
Just my flavor, must have put too much in my coffee this morning

How about the Tony Danza as the kicker from "The Garbage Picking Field Goal Kicking Philadelphia Phenomenon"
Uh, I would play John Wayne on defense........by himself

I would like Ivan Drago (Rocky IV) on the line on both sides of the ball. And to throw in other Rocky stars, how about Mr T at MLB, Apollo Creed at WR, plus Mickey on the sideline. Rocky would make a great guard.

I would say Goldberg at LB (Joey Battle) and Stone cold as DE, Dr. Death Steve Williams and Rick Steiner as Tackles, Scott Stiener as LB, Nelly for RB (Meggett - Longest Yard) are a few that I would use

I think Phil Elliot (Nick Nolte) in North Dallas Forty would start at WR he had some hands man, and Stefen Djordjevich did not get his girl pregnant that was his buddy Brian Riley(Chris Penn) which led to hm not attending USC. Bummer man.

What about Willie Beamon from Any Given Sunday? If you are including actors then the only two I need are: Offensive line, backfield, and all recievers: The entire defense:

If we're taking it in this direction, I'd have Captain James T. Kirk as my QB
Jack Bauer would be my SS.

Sorry, I grew up in a Union town so I can't accept any players from the Replacements because they crossed picket lines. I'd be shunned in my old community.

Now my boyz could really play - not really sure they should be called actors but they could play!!!! Old Old School -- Timmie Brown and Fred Williamson (Spearchucker Jones) from M*A*S*H -- Or the prison team from Necessary Roughness - Butkus, Jerry Rice, Walker, Dorsett, Roger Craig, Ben Davidson, Ed Too Tall Jones, Jim Kelly, Randy White, Earl Campbell and from the old Longest Yard - Nitschke, Sonny Sixkiller, JOe Kapp and Ernie Wheelwright...

It doesn't matter, because he'd be my TB. Jack Dundee was a WR, but he'd be my TE.

I think Arnold as the Terminator would be the fullback or 33 stack NG. I think he'd control a few gaps. You know his motor would never die out. Unless he got dropped into a vat of molten hot lava.
How about Dash, from the Incredibles at fly back? He wouldn't have to go in motion. No way would Jack Parr slow him down on the football field like he did in the track meet. He'd want his boy to take it to the house as much as possible.

QB - Burt Reynolds (The Longest Yard) RB - Billy Dee Williams (Brian's Song) and Dennis Quaid(Everybody's All American) FB - James Caan (Brian's Song) WR - Nick Nolte (North Dallas Forty) WR - Cuba Gooding Jr (Jerry Maquire)
LB - Adam Sanders (Waterboy)
I don't know about the other positions, have to do some thinking.
Of course at Coach you have to have George Gipp (Ronald Reagan) so that they can all win one for the gipper.
Oh at TE has to be that deaf guy from the Replacements.

I still would like Lucy Draper (Kathy Ireland) from Necessary Roughness to kick. Giddyup The problem with that is that if I was the head coach and she was the kicker, we would never be on the field. I would have her in my office doing up-downs.
