I’ve bounced around quite a bit.
9 schools in 5 states over 22 years.
Hopefully not too many more. But we have some guys leaving and I was curious who else has had a lot of movement.

Does going to the same school 3 different times count as a different school?
If not- 8 schools, 20 years.
If so- 10 schools, 20 years.
I will have no more.

12 schools in 34 years.
3 schools - 8 years, 7 years, 8 years. the other 11 years, 9 schools.
it's amazing how many schools tell you one thing about your assignments, then it's something completely different when you get there.

I started my career moving around quite a bit, although the primary reasons for teaching jobs, not coaching. In my first nine years, I was at four different schools. Then, I got hired at my current job in a different state than the first four and have been here 13 years.

20 years
9 Schools
4 states (Michigan, Ohio, Oklahoma, back to Michigan, Georgia)
Would still be the Head Coach at school 6 if I wasn’t an idiot who wanted the big job. The Scott Frost quote sums it up perfectly for me: “When you’re climbing the ladder of success in life, sometimes they forget to tell you to stop when you’re happy.” All that glitters is not gold as I am sure many of you here can attest to.
Editors note: Here at school 9, I am now married and have a one year old (in 6 days) daughter and we bought a house, so we are hoping to keep that school number at 9. Wife is happy, I love living and coaching in Georgia and we are hopeful to get some roots set down.
Double side note: I was a bachelor for 17.5 of those 20 years!

8 Schools 2 States in 22 Years of coaching...
Early on it was a lot of 1 and 2 year stints where I was promoting myself and moving up/around or moving up classifications. I was at one school twice and would go for a third round if it was the HC job.(I have lived in that town for 14 years.)
As a HC my stints have been 2, 5, 6 years.

I've taught in 5 schools over the last 17 years. Early in my career, I bounced around quite a bit due to my ex-wife changing jobs.
Between track and football, I've coached at 12 middle and high schools in 25 years.

I've taught at the same school the whole time but I've coached at 7 schools over 15 years. That includes one school twice. I coached in 4 different programs the last 4 years because the HC that hired me got forced out 3 of those years and the new HC got rid of the previous staff.

5 high schools, 3 states. Not as crazy as some of y'all but I feel like I've bounced around a lot. I can say I hopefully won't be doing another cross country move ever.

First time in 10 years we didn’t rent. Got there in July. Head coach took a different job in January. That was at a school that had worked really hard to bring us back. Never know in this thing I suppose. That was in South Carolina. We are also in Georgia now and love it. This is our second go round and we are basically as close to Florida as possible but get Georgia teacher pay so also hoping to stay a while. Not buying a house though.
