Other than the trophies, certificates and Season DVDS, what have coachhes done to make the year end event special for the kids?
This year we did team jackets for the kids that aged out of our program with all their league championships etc printed on the back.

From concessions, nothing real fancy but the kids all wore them to school the next day and caused quite a stir.
Im sure there are some imnovative things others do. Im not that creative, We did cool cerificates with digital photos of the team on the indy framed certificate.
The org with the semi has a bowl weekend at the University Stadium , they all play there.
The night before our big game the team moms put signs in everyones yard. When we did our out of state tournament, they put these cool signs on everyones hotel room door.

We had a great group of parents this year and we did some interesting things after games. After every game, we had a "tailgate" party where the parents would rotate bringing hot dogs, burgers, BBQ, side dishes, etc. The kids seem to really enjoy it. We offered hot dogs/burgers etc to some of the opponents and some would come sit with us.
We also did jackets. Cost about $1,000 and was raised by typical youth fund raiser stuff. We have a banquet at the end of the year, including trophies, awards, highlight DVDs (provided by a parent who is a production guy for his job). Pretty nice deal and usually last a couple of hours.
