Just wondering how coaching in different states is different.
Just wondering what the average assistant coaches supplement is around the country. Also do OC or DC make more at your school. If so how much to the best of your knowledge.
The 2 schools i have worked in SC
School 1 4000 School 2 4200 Coordinator makes 500 more then position coaches.

Coaching supplements in NC are terrible. Varsity assistants usually start around $1500 and top out around $2800. This includes off season training and summer sessions. Head coach pay isn't a whole lot better either. This does vary a little bit throughout the state, but in general the supplement is embarrassing to even talk about. I made $2000 last year with 11 years experience. I drive a truck about a 1/2 hour each way so I basically lost money last year. That's what I get for coaching in a right to work state.

Yeah NCcoach is right, I think I got about 2000 before taxes in NC, and our check gets taxed at 48%. Our county does give a few hundred extra for spring and summer workouts

In AZ I think that depending on tenure, a varsity assistant make around $2400-$2800. Not sure what the rest of the staff gets, if you are both a teacher and a coach, then you get a better stipend.

In my district in Virginia it's about $2600 for an assistant. Every assistant, coordinators and position coaches, gets the same.

the district I am currently in pays about 4000 for coaching, regardless of how many sports I get $500 for Assistant HC and 3500 for being DC we also get paid "extra days" about $100 a day for extra time spent working (two a days, weekends, this is included in the 4000 I mentioned) Coordinators get 15 extra days more than regular coaches so all in all I get around $9500 for coaching
this district does not pay coaches very well, its not bad if you are a coordinator and only coach one other sport but I am DC , head powerlifting, offseason coordinator, head golf, and equipment coach most schools here pay an extra stipend for each sport and duties like equipment coach so relatively speaking I am being underpaid compared to a lot of schools around but I ain't complaining, I enjoy my job, I would love to make more money but I am happy and that is priceless
Oh......I am in Texas

I have been coaching for 31 years. My first four years I made $1000 total.
I think we all probably make about 37 cents an hour.
If you're in it for the money, you're in it for the wrong reasons.
You can't pay a good coach enough for what he's worth - and whatever you pay a bad coach (read: in it only for the $$ and not what he can do for the kids, program, school, community, profession) - it's too much.

In Mississippi the Teachers pay scale is not that great, but coaches get ok supplements. I am the DC and will get 2,500 on top of my 1,500 for being varsity assistant. Then if you coach jr.high tack on 700-1,000 somewhere in there. But each coach on staff gets 20 extra days contract. Most coaches are on a 207 instead of a 187. Now the head coach gets 40, I think and a 4 or 5 supplement. I have never taught more then 4 classes.

In GA Varisty Assistants start off at around 3500 hundred for no exprience. HC start off at 7500 with NO expreince. Most booster clubs add more to the salary. At one school here the assitants make 15000 a year and that was not a misprint.

North Dakota varies. The school I am at now pays 2200 for a head job and 1500 for an assistant. I recently got a new job that pays assistants 2000 and head coaches 2600. I have seen schools that pay head coaches 3500 and assistants 2500.
The better paying schools as far as coaching supplemts go are in the eastern part of the state, I think.
Teaching bases tend to be low. Anywhere from 23000 to 29000, depending on location and school size

In the school system im in, theres a 5 year pay scale that starts at around 1500 and tops out at 3600. So if HC and a non-OC/DC assistant both have 5 years in, they both make 3600.
