How would one go about getting this done? We just passed a bond that will pay for the start up for turf and we have building fund money too. But we are still currently short. I know some schools have their fields named or sponsored after a company or bank. Who sending a letter off to potential candidates be the way to get started in trying to get this done?

You should find out who currently owns the rights?

i would find out who owns the facility, and go from there, if there is no name on it then you can go ahead and sell the naming rights, but i would make sure that you have it so you can name the the stadium a name and field another name, that way you got two things to sell, make sure there is a time limit on it

i watched a coaches choice video that a guy out in Georgia did on fundraising. The sold the naming rights to their field, stadium and anything else they could. I think it was for a couple grand. With the naming rights they gave stuff to the sponsor, couple tickets a game, ads in their program, website, etc. they had all kinds of stuff they did.

What video was it?
The stadium is owned by the school , it has a name, but the field and track "complex" does not nor the score board

the only reason knowing who 'owns' the facility matters, is so they can ok the naming rights. so it the school owns it and you can get it ok'd through the a.d. and supt. you're good. you just sell it for the year.
not only do they sell naming rights to the stadium they did it for the field too. They also had 'game sponsors.' if you get a chance to watch the video its all in there. good stuff. if you are at a large school theres tons of possibilities. i'm currently at a small school and i think a few of these are doable, but i also think there is a fine line too. where you could over do it and turn business off.
the video was 'Fundraising and Developing Positive Relationships with the Community' by Scott Jones
it was a coaches choice video. i watched it efootballflix.com we get access to it with our glazier season pass. which is awesome!

Really, through glazier, that's cool I'll need to check it out
We are going to sell ads on the sideline , I think 5 on each side of the players box, for like 1000 a year for 10 years . A lot of schools in our area do that, and when I say area I mean the ones across the state line in arkansas, seems like every other school has turf or an I door over there .
