I am a young coach and my dream is to one day become a head coach in Texas. There are alot of coaches on here with many years experience and i was just wondering what advice you might be able to give me. Thanks

Get to know anyone you suspect might ever be a principal or superintendent.

my advice: (which it took me a while actually put into practice myself)
quit worrying about "moving up" and focus on understanding as much about coaching as possible. not just the schemes & drills, but player management, scheduling, dealing with parent positively --- EVERYTHING. once i got my focus & concern on that, i began to notice how much better i became & how much more responsibility i was asked to carry. eventually, someone asked me to "move up".

From Joe Bugel- "Do a good job where you are and people will notice". Redskins scouts used to not only go out and find players. They would also go out and scout coaches.
