Has anyone purchased a Zero 01? Anyone know someone who has?
Have prices come down? Is it still $1500/helmet?

A former player of mine works for a manufacturing company in Silicon Valley. He is taking a trip to the Vicis headquarters soon in hopes his company can help them reduce production costs and make this affordable for the HS market.
I told him i wanted to test a helmet!

Never seen a Vicis in the field anywhere in the country. Not sure if they really exist. With Riddell and Schutt constantly reinventing themselves with new technology I would say Vicis is on the clock heading towards becoming a dinosaur in safety technology. You can tell allot about a helmet in who wears them in the NFL. So far the guys that an afford them choose not to wear them. That tells you everything you need to know.

They are being worn in the NFL, for Green Bay Brian Bulaga, Seahawks Russell Wilson and the center, Alex Smith for Kansas City and a few other Chiefs players. Most games I see 3-4 guys in them

One of our dads bought his kid one for this season. He's a manager/boss at a large medical facility. Kid gets the helmet in just before school gets out. Brings it to weights, we check it out, seems pretty cool. We're ok with that, had it happen before where parents wanted their kids in XYZ helmet for whatever reason. We're actually looking forward to seeing it in action, I don't care if its made out of New Zealand Possum Scrotum and still has the tail attached, if it works as well as/better then go for it. The team can't afford them, yet, so we want to see how it works.
Kid doesn't go to summer school so he is ineligible to play. There goes our trial period.
He stays on the team, works his grades, comes to practice, works hard, gets academically eligible, and starts playing. Can get into a max of 3 games at the end of the season. Makes 1, then disappears. Just doesn't come back for whatever reason. School psych counselor says 'things hare happening, give him some room'. Ok, kid, we'll go along with this, just make sure the helmet is reconditioned (we're every helmet every year) and that I have the certification certificate in my hand. Still haven't seen the kid.
Before he left he said that his dad was working a team purchase with Vicis and that the price was dropping this next season. I'm pretty sure that his dad is wired in with Vicis because of his position in the medical world. I think the helmet is good and will be beneficial, but I just don't have a large enough trial period with it.

Looks like the price has dropped significantly. Almost by half: vicis.com/Anybody using these? I'm seriously considering getting one for my kid.
