The North East Hurricanes Semi Pro Football program ( www.northeasthurricanes.org ) is seeking a Linebackers coach for the 2006 season. The North East Hurricanes are a proud member of the New England Football League ( www.newenglandfootballleague.com/ ) and play and practice at Amesbury High School in Amesbury, Massachusetts. Practices will be held on Wednesday evenings at 8pm and games will be held on Saturday evenings or afternoons; film assignments need to be completed by each Monday on your own time table. The semi pro level of football is geared towards the working man's schedule; generally semi pro players consist of players that have completed their academic careers, did not go on to professional leagues, but still have a desire to play the game.
The Linebacker coach position will work under the supervision of the Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator. Duties include a 25 minute individual skills period each practice, evaluation of player linebacker personnel, sideline substitution coordination on game day, scouting reports from film study of up coming opponent's interior offensive line and running backs, possible special teams duties, and possible recruiting assignments.
Appropriate candidates will have some coaching experience and/or have recent collegiate playing experience, have great attention to detail in regards to the technical aspects of linebacker play, and have great enthusiasm for the game. There is a small stipend for this job, $600 for the season and a $25 bonus for every win. This job is appropriate for somone who is already coaching HS or small college in our area as long as your school schedule does not conflict with ours (we have current HS coaches on staff now).
Interested parties please contact Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator Aaron Beineke at aaronbeineke@northeasthurricanes.org and team President/CFO Jim King at jamesking@northeasthurricanes.org to set up an interview.
