Next year the strength of our offensive line will our left side and I am considering putting our formation strengths predominately to the right to attack the weak side of defenses in the running game. It also sets up playaction boots and nakeds back to the strength. Is this a sound idea and what should be my focus in game planning? Also, what are the drawbacks to this plan and how will defenses adjust to this strategy?

I have had a dominant side of the line the last two years. If you have a good blocking TE run to the strong side. At least that is what I would do. You can always run weakside when you put the TE on the other side. But use your good blockers with a TE aid. We used to run Iso's, Off-Tackle Plays to the good blocking side with our TE. We also would run our Counter away from our strong side and pull the good guard and tackle. I wanted to look balanced, but we really always used the same blockers for each play. I also found it better to boot away from them. Most teams would put their better linemen on the side of our strength, so we would run away from them on our boots.
I think your strategy will be sound, if that is where you think you will be most successful. I would focus on game planning to force them into situations where you can take maximum advantage. I think you need to make sure you give the illusion that you are balanced. Just plan those weak side runs as your focus.
