the WI D3 league head coaches make between 54,000 and 64,000.
i just saw this in the news paper with the a new coach being hired in the league. these are accoring to the red book, which lists all state employee wages.

for the crap you take in texas I would hope you make that. i was talking to a guy one time, he lost a big game and for sale signeds were put in his yard.
i would rather take d 3 in wisconsin then. the average tenure for a wi d3 coach is 16 years.

and what do the assistants make at the wisc. div III schools? (30,000) tough to raise a family and make a living unless mama is a sugermama rolling in some cash.

I know assistants in that league and believe the salary range is somewhere from about 22K-45K.

I have been offered a D3 job in Iowa (part time, running backs coach) pays 3 grand plus meals, mileage, and clothing. Tough to take it do to hours needed for the 3 grand, i love football, but also love my wife and daughter. Great chance for me to work with the man I played for in high school...will be a tough decision.

The staff that I played for in college had a bunch of part time coaches on staff like you described. The taught high school and drove over to practice after school to coach. They absolutely loved it because they simply coached a position and didn't have any of the headache responsibilities and meetings. Most of them were older but a couple still had kids at home. Saturdays was the big change for them since the D3 games were played then. Other than that they really liked it.

A large majority of the WIAC schools assistant coaches also teach classes, which supplement their income. Actually they are 75% instricutor and 25 % coach. Know I can say this that one of the coaches at the WIAC school I went to was 99% football and 2% instructor,as he is forced to teach and would rather watch film or go recruiting then teach what so ever.

Knighter, I remember talking to you about it in the chat room, we have a kid that goes to school there, plays DB, he said that everyone on the team already repects him as a man and coach. Let us know how it goes.
