Just did some quick research. THe adult helemet can be bought with or without an air liner. I found them for about 89 w/o liner and 109 w/liner. I have talked with a trainer who has used the adams, and he has found a higher incidence of concussions. One of the kids that got one, transfered from our school and never had any head issues here. However, I am very proactive on helmet safety. I consider adams to be an off brand. The one piece of equip I will not skimp on is the helmet. In college, I worked equip and we were able to reduce concussions tremendously. THe solution was the denver front in the af2 helmet(no longer available). We were able to "lock the helmet"and keep the helmet from moving. I like the revolution, and then the schutt. I feel the revo provides ample protection and is relatively easy to fit and repair.

Coach,
Be wary of Schutt helmets. I coach at the 11-12 year old level, and last year, we had a number of helmets crack during the year, both in practice and during games. The cracks were large and, at times, entire pieces of the helmets, especially around the ear piece, would break off.

i have used schutt helmets for the last 12 yrs and had very few incidents of concussions or helmets cracking. I did get to use the Revolution this year and i was impressed by them.

One thought, (my biggest pet peeve) do not let kids sit on helmets. this weakens the shell. Not saying anyone does, but kids see pros doing it and think they can.

I have always preferred the Schutt helmet as a player. As a coach, I have no allegiances or concerns as long as the helmet is safe and functional.
