we have 12 players, lost my starting qb first week, last Friday, week 3 we lose 4 players, had to call game in the 2nd, one was a broken wrist, other concussion, the other two should be fine, but i'm thinking we need to really look and see if this season is worth it

the thing, in our first game we come down and score in the first drive, six plays, whipping the ball all over the place, then they come down and score, we are not very good on defense, a lot of young guys figure it is going to be a score fest, then I lose my qb in our second drive, put in my back up qb and we can't score the rest of the night, 2nd game we lose and are done at half, but we did better, but my back up qb is only a frosh and about the size of a 6th grader, throws a great bubble and speed out but anything down field is a pick, I try to get him on the edge so he can see but is not fleet of foot, last Friday we played the two time state champs, I tried to run the ball a little more to shorten the game but beat up my two fastest players that are the only threat I have, toward the end I have three guys on the sideline, my best receiver has his wrist broke, wrapped it up, say do the best you can do, put my last player in on the line, he is a down syndrome kid and we run three more plays and then I told the official we are done, it would have been a good chance someone else would have gotten hurt because we were way out of position

That's always a big issue with smaller kids who need to get out of the pocket to see. At least there's something between you and the state champs inside the pocket. It's a cold cruel world outside of it lol. I'm sorry this season is going the way it has for you. Focus on the relationships. They will help see you through. Best of luck, coach.

Sorry coach, sounds like a real tough situation. I would hate it especially if you are mostly young kids, for those 9th and 10th graders. How does your feeder system (middle or jr. High) look in terms of numbers? This may not be feasible and would be tough for your upperclassmen, but is it possible to take the group you have and play the remainder of the year against jv squads? That way your young guys get experience and your upperclassmen get to actually finish their careers. May not be possible, just trying to think outside the box. Best of luck!

sorry, haven't been on here for a while, been busy, we played game four this Friday, I got back my starting qb, but I still have two out for injury and may not get those back, had another get sick last Tuesday, figured he would not come back for Friday's game, made two lineman a receiver, we scored our first two tds for the season, lost 84-14, did the old qb throwback for a td and we ran back a onside kick for a td, almost got a third on a kor, got down to the five but couldn't punch it in, had a kid get hurt, I think he just got the wind knocked out but it scared him, played with eight, one is a down syndrome kid, had another go out with a cramp for a couple of plays, played with 7, played better on defense, I know it doesn't sound like it with the score, got homecoming this week

yes 8 man, loss 80-0 last night to 2nd best team in the state, we play number 3 this Friday, we will have played 1,2,3, at the end of the game i told the kids i was disappointed in the effort of some, i try to stay positive in this crap of a season, we do some good stuff, but we had a lot of kids make mistakes that they don't usually make, anyway when i got home last night there was a pm from a parent saying that i should be thanking these guys for just putting on the pads, that i should apologize, feces, maybe if your kid came to off season or summer weights we might have given up just 60. i'm not going to apologize, we will work harder this week, i'm tired of the poor me feces, i got about 3 kids that but there tail where i can say good or bad they are always going all out, the rest no

our season ended last night, went a full game, lost 82-28 to a team that beat us earlier 62-8 and that game was over at half, kids did well, I blitzed everybody and their mom from as many different looks as possible, they kept their starters in pretty much the whole game, they loss one with a broken collar bone, actually we should have had two more tds, drop ball in the endzone and my rb got the ball stripped on the five as he was about to go in

8 man seems more dangerous than 11 man.

It can be. I have seen more injuries occur in 8 man than in 11 man.
