TFA has been a consistently good program in Central Florida reaching the State Semis numerous times. We've played against them and they were always Wing-T and played very good football, they got some transfers in here and there but nothing crazy. Enter Jeff Conaway who was the Shiloh Christian Coach and they go 6-4 in his first season, very pedestrian considering he has talent. Enter 2024..brings in 30 Transfers and now his backup QB has Power 5 Offers.....just insane. Somehow he convinces a HC from a School that went 10-2 to come be his OC LOL. We'd have to play them in the playoffs but I guess now Chaminade has some competition. This is just going to accelerate all of the 1A schools to go independent, we can't compete with this. Absolutely kills the sport. www.orangeobserver.com/news/2024/apr/25/royals-overhaul-the-first-academys-athletics-vision-under-new-ad-jeff-conaway/

I've worked in five different states in mostly Catholic schools during my career. In some states the public schools had "open enrollment" which resulted in a number of those schools receiving a surge in transfers. and it always turned out that the better athletes ended up in the "better" schools. In those same states where I worked there were private schools that made no bones about seeking transfers. Call it what you want, but IMHO it's still a manner of "recruiting", and as long as there are people in charge (no matter what type of school) who fail to maintain and support the rules this issue will continue to get worse, particularly among coaches feeling the pressures to win in those schools. I'm proud to say that during my career I never had to resort to "recruiting" kids to make my program better. I found ways to highlight my players' strengths, not expose their weaknesses, surround them with coaches they could trust, and worked our a$$es off.

I hate this kind of BS, but with HS NIL and other stuff, it’s only going to get worse before it ever gets better,
A kid near me committed to Colorado recently and made his whole community proud. Part of Coach Prime’s “mentoring” of the kid was to get him to transfer out of that community and school to a bigger school nearby for his senior year “to better develop his talents for the next level.”

Can't even begin to imagine how bad it will get for all y'all.

Here in NC the #1 junior recruit in the state just transferred from his rural school to a private school in Charlotte, about 2 hours away. There may be perfectly good reasons for the move. Maybe it was for academics. Maybe Mom or Dad got a job in Charlotte. Athletically, though, it doesn't make much sense to me. His old school is highly successful and regularly sends guys to college. It's not like he needed to raise his recruiting profile. He was already the top recruit in the state, one of the top in the country, and his offers list (And I understand that the accuracy of those lists may be questionable) reads like the AP TOP 20.
